Joggen am Mittag
Juni 1, 2008After noon the moment for jogging comes. The sun is not shining directly, but it is still hot and humid outside. All the same I go. And love it. The physical exercise, the sweat, the space I have nearly for myself.

This evening I stood in the tramway next to the two bags full of letters I was carrying to the post office and watched an elderly man entering the quite empty tramway. He wasn’t really secure on his feet. He opted for a first seat but did not like it. He turned into the other direction & walked past me. My first impulse was to tell him to immediately sit down, as I knew, that he would fall down as soon as the tramway would start moving.
And so it happened. The tramway made a sudden move forward to stop again and in the next moment there was commotion behind me and the man lay on the floor. He needed assistance and was helped by several passengers. I took over command for a nanosecond, then let go. Probably, I should have gone for a short inspection of his knee when he was sitting on a seat, but I left that out. It was too obvious, this call for attention/assistance, somehow. So I let it be. Although, one should never let a possibilty out to help another soul no matter what it’s intention were. That would be compassion, wouldn’t it?
The earth shook today, so far 9 times, with magnitudes from 4.9 to 7.5 quakes. The quantity of so many quakes might not be so uncommon as one might think, but that all happened in the same area and in rather quick succession, is a little bit less common. The most interesting point about these quakes is the name of the area in which all those quakes took place:
Loyalty Islands
Might it be that loyalties soon are going to break down & things that have been concealed so far become apparent, evident & tangible?
This morning I have an electrician in my apartment. Finally, I shall get some proper lights again in the kitchen and in the entrance. As he starts working, he starts singing and whistling. It makes me smile. Somebody who is happy with what he’s doing. And that’s great.
Getting back to the office, I find an e-mail waiting for me in the office’s inbox. One sentence catches my eyes:
You are a blessed person.
It makes me laugh so much. The rest of the e-mail is rubbish, spam-mail rubbish, but this sentence sticks. And puts a smile on my face. Should one ask for more?
is sometimes so easy. You know, it can simply be that you walk out of your apartment and realise halfway down the passageway that something missing. After a second check you realise that it is your glasses you haven’t on your nose. And as you belong to this part of the population that depends on glasses for doing its job, well, you have got to go back to the apartment, open the door, and grab the glasses. If they were in the place they should be. But when they’re not? You go to the next probable place, and then the third. And at that moment it becomes evident that you are gonna miss the bus, because, now, you have got to look for the glasses because they have mysteriously disappeared from any proper place they normally are deposited. And that takes more time than a few seconds.
The irony of the story is - I found them two seconds later. And the bus was gone.
Forgot my Birkenstock sandals on my way home from work last Friday. Left them hanging in the bag I transported them in in the train I was travelling with. Posted a search request at lost and found. All via the internet. So far, there has not been a positive answer. Perhaps, the Birkenstocks wanted to get lost? Who knows.
On Saturday my mother lost her wallet in the bus. When she called lost and found of the bus company on Monday, she was informed that it had been found. I guess, she is the lucky one ![]()
First, I got a new hair cut.
Second, I had a finding-fitting/matching-business-clothes streak that was just incredible. Including also a sensible sales woman who knew how to deal with me. And so I am prepared now for what is going to come next. Whatever this may be.
